Calling all artists.
These are our new submissions guidelines. I encourage you to read carefully as whoever you are and whatever your work we will give you the opportunity to be judged not only by the gallery committee, but by your piers.
The last weekend of May we will be launching a system of submissions that will give you, the artist, an automatic display space at the gallery.
Our intention is to host a group show twice a year with all of our submissions displayed.
The gallery selection committee, comprised of invited local collectors and the gallery owners will select four artists to be a part of a group show, and one artist to have a solo show.
Each artist will have their work displayed for a month at the gallery and have an opening night with all of the support material you would expect.
One final artist will be selected by ballot. Every attendee will be encouraged to vote for their favorite work and the artist with the most votes will be included in the group show.
Important Note.
Submissions will be considered on a first come first served basis. Each work is valued and we will display and light it appropriately so when we feel that we have enough submissions we will ask if you would like to have a reserved place in our fall group show.
There will be a $25 administration charge for each artist submission and the cut-off time is when we have enough art to complete the show.
Details
If you win a solo show, the gallery will discuss with you the time you require to have the requisite amount of work available.
Art will be judged solely on the merit of the work submitted and not your resume, however we will require a resume and biography for the submission event.
Any artist can apply, no restrictions other than the ability to comply with the entry requirements.
I will be glad to enter into discussion with any artist about our new policy.
